Canada’s coal mining companies have a chance to enter into Chinese coking-coal market due to the booming demand from China market.
According to a report by Scotia Capital analyst Na Liu, China’s overall coal imports increased to a record high of 9.16 million metric tons in April, up 55 percent over March.
Another reason is that domestic coking coal production has declined after the government closed a number of small mines due to safety concerns.
