Baoshan Raises March Steel Prices

Baoshan Iron and Steel Co Ltd the largest listed steel maker in China, has raised prices for key hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel products for March by RMB 300 per ton.

After the price rises, hot-rolled steel products and cold-rolled steel products will be sold at RMB 3,742 (US$547) and RMB 4,226 (US$618) per ton, respectively.

Last month, the Chinese steel maker raised its prices for major steel products by RMB 100-450, the first price hike since August.

Baosteel cut prices of major products for four straight months beginning in August last year due to the lower demand from both domestic and overseas markets.
