The China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association has announced that China produced 84,470 tonnes of tungsten concentrate last year up by 5.01% year-on-year, but production of 65%WO3 tungsten concentrates contracted 10.71% month-on-month to 7,668 tonnes last December.
In 2008, production of tungsten concentrates in Hunan Province dropped 10.86% on the year to 27,590 tonnes accounting for 32.7% of the total output while in Jiangxi Province production was up 5.52% to 39,306 tonnes - 46.5% of the national total.
Production in Henan Province and Guangxi Province also spurted in recent years thanks to retrievement of scheelite in Henan and new mines in Guangxi.
