Japan's inventories of refined zinc fell 2.6% on month in February to 37,344 metric tons, according to preliminary data released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The inventories were more than double the 17,867 tons in February 2008
Output at Japanese zinc smelters fell 25% on month and 18% on year to 42,031 tons.
Japan's zinc shipments for February were down 13% on month and 11% on year at 15,666 tons.
