China's Jiangsu Shagang group has imported soft coal for the first time in three years. The group imported 46,000 tonnes of soft coal for coking use valued at USD 6.67 million, in reaction to the changing situation at home and abroad and the necessity of interior structural adjustment.

The group is scheduled to import more than 1.5 million tonnes of such coal this year.
